Jocelyn Schimpf is a dance artist and educator with a research focus on injury risk reduction to promote overall dancer health and wellness. To further develop safe movement practices, she teaches the implementation of a somatic mindset into dance training to generate movement efficiency for optimal performance. Jocelyn completed her Master of Fine Arts in Dance Choreography and Performance at the State University of New York Brockport in May 2021. She expanded her pedagogy by teaching at SUNY Brockport, Alfred University, and Palmyra-Macedon Conservatory of Dance. Jocelyn received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in business from the University of North Texas in May 2016, graduating summa cum laude. Outside of teaching and performing, she has presented research, stage managed numerous shows and is a RYT 200 certified yoga instructor. Currently, Jocelyn is an adjunct professor at the University of North Texas, and Assistant Director and instructor at Destiny Devoted Dance.
